Center for Neuroscience

The Center for Neurosciences (ZfN) is a central research facility at the University of Freiburg. It was founded in 2004 to bring together scientists from a broad spectrum of disciplines and to foster interdisciplinary activities in the field neuroscience. Members of the ZfN come from the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Biology and the Department of Psychology. The building of the ZfN hosts third-party funded research groups focusing on basic research in developmental neurobiology, signal transduction and neurological diseases. The building also accomodates the office and research groups of the Collaborative Research Center 780 ‘Synaptic mechanisms of neural network function’.
